Summary
In July 2011, a group of cosplayers who were dressed as trolls from the webcomic Homestuck went to a restaurant and passed around a plastic bucket and spat in it. They did this inside where people were eating. In a public place.
In public?!
It could be assumed that the restaurant was nearby some sort of convention. Judging by the video, nobody alerted a manager or were too grossed out to do so. Or maybe just shocked from the sheer WTFery of a bunch of poorly-dressed slobs in bad costumes spitting into a plastic bucket with a red heart drawn on it in Sharpie.
Why buckets?
The trolls are a race of alien-beings or something in the Homestuck comics. They're incredibly popular to cosplay as, and their signature zodiac T-shirts go out of stock very quickly from the webcomic's site store. The buckets have something to do with how they mate. According to a fan, "troll reproduction occurs when all members of the species put 'genetic material' in a bucket and it gets sent off to a hive queen thingy that mixes it together and lays the actual eggs. The clear implication is that they jizz into a cup but early on in the troll arc a really weird fan artist decided to be 'different' and draw two of the (13-year-old) characters barfing into a bucket and acting like they just had sex. It was a joke. Somehow it spread and now retards think it's canon."

There's no name for this video that's set in stone, but it has gone by a lot of names:

Origins
Homestuck fans are known for being over-the-top at times, such as threatening to leave the Internet forever when their favorite character dies, but this is a new low.
It manages to beat out the crap-stained bedsheets at EverQuest's SOE FanFaire because at least that was in a private hotel room.
The video gained publicity via the Homestuck Tumblr community.
Current status
It grosses people out. Also keep backups of the video since it keeps getting deleted.
