Anwar al-Awlaki was a man who preached fundamentalist Islam and hatred against America. Even though al-Awlaki was an American himself (he also held Yemeni citizenship), he advocated for terrorism against the USA. He spoke perfect English and used Facebook and YouTube to spread his kind, soothing words. So he became known as the "Osama bin Laden of the Internet."
Anwar al-Awlaki was born in New Mexico
Rise to fame
He inspired people like Nidal Hassan, the guy who shot Fort Hood, and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the guy who tried to blow up a Delta Air Lines flight going from the Netherlands to Detroit.
