Summary

Chinese people rely on Baidu Baike, along with Hudong, to have random facts they want to look up and to plagiarize things for their papers. It's a part of the massive Baidu empire. Wikipedia's nice, but the Chinese government blocks Wikipedia, so that's out of the picture.

Speaking of plagiarizing, the people contributing to Baidu Baike have a very Chinese adherence to copyright. People have violated copyrights and licensing agreements by copying stuff from Hudong and Wikipedia. So shameless!

Origins

Baidu Baike, a part of the Baidu empire, was founded to make money.

Yes folks, Baidu Baike is NOT non-profit.

The Grass Mud Horse and the other Baidu 10 Mythical Creatures come from Baidu Baike

Facts
