Basement-dweller

'Basement-dweller' is a derogatory term used to describe those who spend all of their time on the Internet. While the term suggests that basement-dwellers indeed live in their parents' basements, this is not always the case. The epithet can be applied to anybody who spends more time in front of a computer than they do socializing with others and generally seeing the light of day.
Common usage
Basement-dweller is almost universally considered an insult, and it is commonly used in flame wars. Using it is an effective way to stir the drama pot, especially if it is applied to somebody effected with GOTIS or another form of unwarranted self-importance.

- Get a life, you basement-dweller. Second Life doesn't count.
