Summary
Due to its use of pictures to narrate, it has been called “the first known British comic strip.” The 'Historic Tale Construction Kit' led to many Old English image macros which spoofed other memes and documented ongoing internet drama. It is usually related to trolling, but can be related to any meme.
Origins
The Bayeux Tapestry (which is not an actual tapestry) is a .5 meter high by nearly 70 meter long embroidered cloth that depicts the Norman conquest of England led by William the Conqueror and culminates with the Battle of Hastings in October 1066.
Current status
The Bayeaux tapestry is alive and lol.
Facts
- The real Bayeaux Tapestry is housed in its own museum in Normandy.
