Summary
Candlejack is an evil supernatural being who abducts children in the night, provided they've made the fatal mistake of saying his name out loud. He bears no resemblance to Oogie-Boogie from 'A Nightmare Before Christmas'. At all.
His reach seems to have extended to the internet, where one only need type his name in order to be snatched up. Often this is demonstrated by stopping a sentence mid-word after typing "Candlejack", as if the poster had been grabbed and dragged away from his keyboard before they could finish what he was typing. No dashes, no nothing.

Origins
The story of Candlejack was originally told in the Kids' WB show Freakazoid!, where he gathered up children at a summer camp who were frightening each other with campfire stories to anyone who says his name. That night, one child turned to another and explained Candlejack, at which point he arrived and emptied the cabins of their inhabitants.
Current status
Old meme. Often in threads mentioning Candlejack, other posters will criticize the OP for his outdated reference while themselves participating in it, leaving a thread full of half-sentences in their wake.
