Come At Me Bro
Internet taunting at its finest.
- Date Discovered: 08/2010
- Discovered On: MTVs Jersey Shore
Summary
Image macros with the term Come at me bro in a setting where the subject is challenging the viewer to public fisticuffs. Appropriate for any situation where one person wants to fight, but doesn't want to make the first punch.
The macro can be on any image where a person, animal or character looks like they're ready to spin into a rage and start a fight. Most commonly, the character has their arms spread to mimic the stance of Ronnie in the original video.
Origins
A culturally relevant and important television program began the phrase in earnest when lovable, Italian American ruffian Ronnie engages in physical posturing on the boardwalk in New Jersey.
It's popularity was gained when Zyzz's legion of fans caught on and used it over and over until all value was lost to the equivalent of beating a dead horse.
Current status
As of February 2011, the meme is well entrenched and accepted as a classic.
