This is a phrase spoken most often as a response comment to an internet video involving someone being injured, such as a failblog video, a narcovideo, or a beheading video. The phrase is presumably making fun of the original question, "Did he die?" being over-asked in response to these types of web videos. It is unknown where the variation "Died" originated, but the phrase is now commonly attributed to commenting "trolls."
