Summary
EQ2Flames is a site regarded as one the most hellish forums for massively multiplayer online role-playing games, mostly focusing on EverQuest II but also looks at World of Warcraft and Rift. It is run by LFG, who himself has had quarrels with the EverQuest II developers at Sony Online Entertainment (or SOE for short.) These usually involved topics concerning the privacy of the developers.
Topics
Topics on EQ2Flames typically range from people whining that EQ2 as a game is dead, and nobody plays it anymore - while the same people pay for 5 accounts. Other topics include "the wizard class is overpowered, please weaken them for us" except in a more incomprehensible manner. The Rate-a-Retard section contains threads about call-outs: some of the most famous ones being on bestiality, suicide attempts by fire, roleplayers initiating the Streisand effect by trying to cover up their cybersex logs, and photos of sub-par parenting of EQ2 players being leaked.
The server sections are mostly used for tracking on how groups of players, or guilds, progress within the game and what dragons and monsters they've defeated. Except the Nagafen section. It's more like a contest on who can post as many racial slurs as possible before being banned.
Drama
Along with the drama mentioned below in the "Origin" section, EQ2Flames has had weird stuff revealed about its users and administrators over time. In late 2008, LFG, the head administrator, confessed that the rumors of him abusing meth and being a fundamentalist Christian were all true. It was also shown that he was fired as a lawyer. He then opened up JesusOwns.com, which was promptly attacked by 4chan.

Aside from the meth incident, EQ2Flames' drama has been wacky. For example, the user Ajjantis threatened legal action on the website because someone dropped a photo of him, his girlfriend, and (probably his) kid. This backfired as the picture circulated all over EQ2F and Encyclopedia Dramatica. In 2011, a known player, Gaige, was banned for five days for exploiting a game mechanic, so he threatened to play Rift instead. After his crusade against EQ2, he came back exactly five-and-a-half days later. A month later, a thread documenting two ex-cyber-lovers and their psychotic bantering rose, along with "special" pics. By that we mean suicide threats in the EQ2 game itself.
Origins
Due to massive bannings of anything other than complete brown-nosing on the official forums of the EverQuest II game, EQ2Flames was created for a mostly (uncensored) drama-corral. Up until early 2008, some of the game's developers from SOE would post on the forums and talk with the players. This halted when one of the developers, Aeralik, had this character name and dox dropped on the forum: causing him to PM LFG a message full of homophobic slurs, and SOE ceased to communicate and link to EQ2Flames. EQ2Flames continued to run the site. Here is a developer's commentary on the subject.
Current status
EQ2Flames now has a separate section for the 2011 MMORPG Rift, which is developed by former Warhammer: Age of Reckoning and EverQuest II developers. It still is a large source of drama and information on the EQ2 game itself. As of this typing, the current hot topic is the Anonymous vs. Sony thing. Over a hundred-thousand EQ2-deprived lunatics flooded the gates of 'Flames when EQ2 went down. Without their game, the EQ2Flamers posted topics such as "If an elephant spread they buttcheeks, would you save a human or a factory?" and "HEY GUYS EQ2 IS DOWN?!" - annoying the mods greatly.
Also, the Nagafen section is still a hellish cesspool. Don't go there.
