Estdomains was a webhost from Estonia. It was known for hosting websites that had illegal activities going on. Nasty stuff like rogue anti-spyware sites, child pornography, etc. The webshost likely had close links with the Russian Business Network, a crime syndicate from Russia.
The CEO of the company was Vladimir Tsastsin, who was involved with organized crime.
The CEO got a three year prison sentence for being involved in fraudulent activity and money laundering. Because of that conviction, ICANN revoked its license and Estdomains shut down.
