Most people on the Internet are familiar with Etsy due to the large amount of creepy, unsettling, or just plain weird crap that can be found there.

There are several blogs devoted to following Etsy listings that are strange or weird. Etsy tends to attract buyers and sellers who enjoy hipster items and use the word "bespoke" often.

Origins

Etsy was created in June of 2005 by iospace, a small company with only three employees.

Current status

Still enabling people to sell creepy handmade porcelain dolls with soulless eyes, hipster-rific felt mustaches, and disturbing terracotta "chicken woman" sculptures.
