Fat Son
Image meme featuring a young man who lives with his disapproving father.
Summary
Fat Son is a four-panel comic featuring the exploits of a basement-dwelling lard-puppet whose father walks in and discovers him doing the kinds of things that an otaku would do. Predictably the father is unimpressed.
Origins
The true identity of the author remains a mystery - but we're guessing that they're not setting the art world on fire. What's certain is that they're the kind of Anonimati indigenous to 4chan (most notably on /v/ and possibly /a/). For a brief period the artist lurked on various boards, waiting for the best opportunities to upload their comics. Some say that the creator is a true 'Anon' since he doesn't use a trip and actually uploads original content. Unlike trollface, no Deviantart profile has been found.
The original fat son is the one in the above picture. The girl saying "Am I kawaii? uguu~" in the third panel originates from the Kanon adult video games.
Current status
Fat Son comics are more artistically demanding (i.e. Memegenerator proof) than most memes, and are consequently rare. This is in stark contrast to memes such as Advice Dog. However, the last panel with the disappointed father has been commonly used in rage comics and has even become a rage face.
Facts
- Fat son loves anime
- Fat son's dad is worried his son is too effeminate and lonely
- Fat son takes more talent to create than most memes, and thus there are less fat son comics to read
