Origins
One of Something Awful's regular features for some time was the Weekend Web, in which goons (most often those from the confusing and ironic FYAD subforum) would find and screen-capture stupid or horrifying posts from various forums across the internet. Yahoo! Answers is an endless font of such content, and the goons have touched on it several times.
The comment was later revisited by Shmorky in another SA feature, the Flash Tub, in which he animated cavemen asking the two question. At this point the clip took off, and Shmorky eventually copied the portion in question into its own flash clip, which repeats indefinitely.
Current status
To this day no one knows how to instain mother or what it may even mean. How babby is formed, however, is a well known fact.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of both comments, there are numerous duplicate entries in Yahoo! Answers for each one.
