"I accidentally X" is a means of confusing those who not understand and sounding silly to those who do.

Summary

"I accidentally X" is a phrase with an intentional abnormal grammatical structure. The direct object (X) is present, but the verb is inexplicably absent. The phrase is meant to imply that the OP did something mischievous or wrong. This is usually followed by "Is it dangerous?"

"I accidentally" is also a powerful trolling technique, especially when used in a plea for help. The missing verb would create more questions than answers. Those unfamiliar with the meme will assume that the troll is some random nobody with poor grammar skills. Bonus points if they actually call you stupid (eg. this Yahoo! Answers thread).

Origins

"I accidentally" originated as a trolling device. The post that the phrase originated from looks something like this:

hey /g/ I need your help

what should I do…is this dangerous ?

Another user later perfected the troll by turning the phrase into "I accidentally a whole coca cola bottle," which provokes even more questions (eg. Is it plastic or glass?).

Current status

Used so much that typing "I accidentally" in Google produces some rather interesting suggestions.
