Summary
Josef Fritzl, aka "Basement Dad", Avid DIY enthusiast and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition competition winner, gained worldwide recognition with his avant-garde basement design. Featuring what Architectural Digest called "an oppressive, dungeon-like atmosphere", Fritzl audaciously mixed solid craftsmanship with uncompromising functionality which recalled the early 'arts and crafts' movement.
Origins
Josef Fritzl case happened in the town of Amstetten, Austria. Many trolls attempted to sow seeds of confusion by intentionally mistaking Australia for Austria. This only reflected poorly on them - though trolls that lame probably possess neither the clarity to perceive this, or any sense of shame.
Rise to fame
The saga of Josef Fritzl began around the end of April in 2008. News that day reported the capture of a man who had been sexually assaulting his daughter for years, resulting in the birth of seven children and one miscarriage. All of this occured in secrecy in the basement of Fritzl's property, which is why he was often called "Basement Dad".
When /b/ of 4chan heard of this, a meme explosion resulted, with many lulz, copypasta, mockeries and long tales being made, which continues to this day with Fritzl copypastas and jokes still being circulated among the internet. One of the most popular satires is that he could won the 'best dad ever' award, as well as the recognition for the 'most talented house designer'.
The meme explosion is also due to some of the /b/tards being pedophiles and/or lolicons themselves, this with many claiming that he is the Final Boss of the /b/tards, thus spreading the word around.
Current status
On March 19, 2009, Fritzl was sentenced to life imprisonment. He is currently serving out his sentence in Garsten Abbey, a former monastery in Upper Austria that has been converted into a prison. He is held up in a special section of the prison for the criminally insane. Whether or not he is allowed to take part in carpentry workshops is as yet unknown.
