Summary
Krystal Can't Enjoy Her Sandwich is an internet meme which came to prominence during the middle of 2007. It involves images, usually those of natural disasters or some other unfortunate thing that is not conducive to satisfactory sandwich consumption, with a small picture of Krystal of Star Fox fame inserted into the corner.
Origins
While the original image of Krystal stuffing her face had been floating around since June, it became a meme during July 2007 when a FurAffinity user by the name of Cbee uploaded artwork of a landscape with the image of Krystal inserted into the corner to get around FurAffinity's rules on non-furry submissions. This catalysed a flurry of copycat images which soon took over the website and a considerable portion of the fandom as a whole, with WikiFur even joining in on the joke and replacing their website's banner with the picture of Krystal.
