LeetStreet Boys

The most weeaboo band you've ever heard.

Summary

The LeetStreet Boys are an "otaku" band who plays autotuned-up music. About animu.

They became famous in 2008 for their music video Yuri The Only One which was ridden with over-the-top anime and video game references (i.e., "yuri" being girl/girl anime pornography being a pun on "you're"). It was received well by their target audience (Gaia users and 13 year-olds who stuff their faces with Pocky) but was continuously downvoted by people from /a/ and similar boards and forums.

They also have this webcomic that nobody reads featuring the characters from the band. The main character, Matt, is the lead singer. The blonde elf, Justin, is the lead guitar player. The pink-haired bossy woman is Rose the bassist. And finally they put a dragon in who plays the drums, named D-Dos.

Origins

Apparently starting as a webcomic, the LeetStreet Boys double as a fictional band with non-fictional counterparts. So unlike Gorillaz, one of the band members really exists IRL.

Rise to fame

The Yuri The Only One surfacing in 2008 made them famous, or infamous, take your pick.

Current status

In Summer 2011 they released their She's So Kawaii video. It has more dislikes than likes on YouTube. Who could have guessed?
