An internet forum or a message board is a type of website which hosts discussions about various topics. Forum discussions take the form of messages posted by various users, so unlike on a chat room not every participant has to be online for any particular participant to see a message posted on the forum. A forum can be about baseball, animu, Pokeymans, or any other subject.
Some websites directly host internet forums. Those sites include Yuku (EZBoard).
Some companies offer software used by site owners to set up message boards. Software packages include phpBB.
The largest internet forum in Japan is 2channel, and Tianya Club, a Chinese forum, is among the most visited sites in the world.
