Neckbeard

A neckbeard is a growth of hair right under the chin that goes towards the neck. Hence, neckbeard. It's supposed to look like something out of "The Matrix," but due to neckbeard-wearers' commonly being overweight, it forms into some sort of dewlap and looks stupid. As neckbeards often grow as a result of caring very little about personal grooming, the impaction is that everyone who sprouts one is generally lazy and smelly.
Neckbeards stereotypically like Dungeons & Dragons and other nerdy things, along with faux-metal novelty bands such as Dragonforce.
Common usage
Neckbeard can also be a derogatory term for those who sport them, such as "Wow, my roommate still uses Unix. What a neckbeard!"
