Writers is a privilege group within the site for those editors who write frequently and are consistent contributors. Those in this group have access to special pages that regular users do not.
Writers are users considered to be trusted by the community. Becoming a writer is a completely attainable goal that can be earned by those exhibiting dedication, trustworthiness, maturity, and good decision making.
Writers have the ability to move articles. This comes in handy when people put pages under the wrong names. To move a page, simply click the move tab at the top of that page.
Writers get a handy purge button. This helps update templates for an article. Purge is necessary to make sure you have the latest version of a page. Regular users can purge too by clicking edit and changing the =edit in the url to =purge. Purge can help when changes seem wonky or something just isn't looking right with your page. Purging is the first fix to try. Purging clears out the pages cache which causes the page to be updated to the last edit that was done.
Writers have the ability to edit the source of pages. This means they can change parts of an article without using the form. This should still be used sparingly, as the forms help create neat and on topic articles. Edit with source is usually used for debugging and articles that are non-standard or need many more sections added.
