Operation Empire State Rebellion
Anonymous' call for a rebellion against...banks?
Summary
Operation Empire State Rebellion (OpESR) began as a call for help. Anonymous insisted that the banks of America have sold us out, and that we should move our money to credit unions and start using Bitcoins (virtual, mineable coins). Anyways, people started digging and Anonymous made a twitter for OpESR, and a tumblr page explaining why we should join the cause.
They claim to be under no influence by either wing of the two wing system that the US runs under. They seek to end the so-called corruption that exists within.
They have a few demands that are behind the whole thing.
"WE DEMAND THAT THE PRIMARY DEALERS WITHIN THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKING SYSTEM BE BROKEN UP AND HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR RIGGING MARKETS AND DESTROYING THE GLOBAL ECONOMY, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. AS A FIRST SIGN OF GOOD FAITH, WE DEMAND BEN BERNANKE STEP DOWN AS FEDERAL RESERVE CHAIRMAN"
Their tumblr states that until the demands are met, they will engage in peaceful, civil disobedience.
So far, there haven't been any clear attacks, or events. They mostly retweet things on twitter about bitcoins and banks.
It hasn't really made an impact on anything as of yet, and judging by their misguided attempts to bring down the dollar and replace it with Bitcoins, that impact may never be seen.
