Roblox

(Redirected from ROBLOX)

It's your game, if you don't mind the limited features and children.

Summary

Roblox is a game for children and manchilds. The software runs on Windows and Mac OS X with no signs of Linux any time soon (which only means the leet people who may know how to use the scripts well aren't playing, which is probably a good thing). The game started in 2005 and to this day, sucks up over a million dollars from parents' credit cards from the paid memebership, Builder's Club. Three variants exist of this membership: a regular Builder's Club, a "Turbo" Builder's Club and an "Outrageous" Builder's Club.

Users can create games with as many blocks as they like and program their games with a modified, or broken, version of Lua 5.1, dubbed "Roblox Lua" or "RBLX.lua". Unfortunately, 99% of Roblox do not know how to use Lua, even at appropriate ages, so they rely on Free Models, but way too much, and they even steal free models and claim them as their own.

Origins

One day, David Bamzookizi was home drunk trying to find an idea of a business. There, he thought of a game where you make your own game and worked on the idea with John Shedletsky. Early builds were called "Inception" but they quickly renamed it "Roblox" because of how much it resembled Lego.

Current status

Currently under a huge flame war. The war started over 9/11 threads on the forum sub-category "Off Topic". A corrupt moderator (MSE6) posted a "sticky" thread that said "Please no threads about 9/11". She was at first applauded for stopping the inevitable flame war that would begin over possible conspiracies on the event. That however was quickly changed when people started spamming OT with 9/11 threads that would either declare the event a good thing and a "joke."

Later people started spam reporting MSE6 for starting the "do not post about 9/11 thread", catching her in breaking her own rule. She was surprisingly banned, but only for 5 minutes. The 9/11 threads had increased to an amazing amount and the attack was focused on the other two sticky threads: one about being fare with other people's religions and nationalities, the second one being about something that no one can care to remember about. Aside from that, the two were granted the hated title "[content deleted]". The threads about nationalities were very long and reduced to a simple content deleted title and description.
