Scavenger Editor
- Date Found: 2001
- Used By: Wiki people
Scavenger editors refer to people on any particular wiki that constantly make small, unnecessary and refuse edits or articles in order to gain a sense of self-entitlement. They pick up the little scraps of content that other users have added, trying to put them everywhere including places where they shouldn't be, even if the said content wasn't originally intended to go outside their respective pages. Scavenger editors delude themselves in believeing that the more edits they make, regardless of how unnecessary and low quality they are, the more likely they'll be recognized by the SysOps and possibly be promoted to Sysop status. They are one of the most annoying wiki editors, just behind talk page editors and edit war battlers.
The term scavenger editor was coined on this very wiki. A scavenger editor's wiki edits mainly consist of making hundreds of nonessential redirects, shitting out crapstubs one after another just like a mother on welfare without even putting any effort into them, spamming the hell out of recent changes and if the wiki they work on just so happens to include a wiki-points system, they'll continuously make nonsensical edits just to boost up their wikipoint count as a way to show off how big their e-peen is.
Scavenger editors are also a wiki janitor's worst nightmare as they infest recent changes with their putrid and cringe-worthy edits as well as creating a garbage pile of articles that are either a) so bad they make you face palm b) on shit nobody cares about (or even heard about) and makes you wonder why they even made the page in the first place.
