Summary
Shay Carl is best known for his two daily vlogs, Shay Carl and Shaytards, the family vlog. They also have 'spin-off' vlogs titled ShayLoss, which is a weight-loss centered channel, and iphoneTARD, which is unedited iphone clips uploaded directly to YouTube.
Shaycarl and his wife, Katilette, have four children who are often featured in the videos. Their 'stage names' are "Sontard", "Princesstard", "Babytard", and "Rocktard".

Rise to fame
Odd and sometimes shocking, the misleading titles of their videos led to many accidental video views which resulted in subscriptions. Controversy surrounding the kids constant public exposure, as well as the use of the '-tard' suffix helped spread the word about their videos, and they were soon frequently featured on YouTube's front page.
Current status
Their YouTube videos have over 350 million views as of early 2011, and they regularly post new content for their subscribers.
