Summary
Slowpoke is an image macro used to poke fun at someone who discovers an important event or concept long after everyone else.
November 17, 2007 saw the death of Slowpoke. A thread was posted with a picture of a slowpoke laid low, gentle pink eyes closed. Posters responded with sad "S-Slowpoke?" replies and repeated "WAKE UP" requests, but he would not. Soon after, Slowpoke found itself being punted unceremoniously into the afterlife by the understandably annoyed specter of Death. /b/ mourned the loss of their friend with a eulogy, but happily their pain was short-lived. Slowpoke, from the future (somehow) appeared, warning of the Vietnam War, which, fittingly, had ended nearly 20 years prior.
Origins
A character taken from Pokémon, Slowpoke as a meme was popularized at 4chan's random board, /b/.
Current status
Slowpoke is alive and well, lurking in forums across the internet, waiting to be posted in yet another thread.

- Slowpoke was post 26,000,001 on /b/ - just one post late for the 26 Million get, with a message asking "Hi guys, am I late for 25M GET?"
