Summary
Smash Mouth's lead singer, Steve Harwell, promised to eat two dozen eggs to help raise money for charity. Celebrity chef Guy Fieri was invited to prepare the eggs, after Harwell requested the eggs be prepared by a celebrity chef. In a show of douchebaggery, Fieri attempted to steal the show, and added extra ingredients that made it difficult for Harwell to finish the eggs.
Origins
Jon "DocEvil" Hendren offered the singer of Smash Mouth $20 to eat two dozen eggs. Thanks to weirdos on twitter and hordes of goons, this ballooned into a massive fundraising campaign that raised over $10,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Current status
Smash Mouth did not eat all the eggs.
