The 419 scam is commonly perpetrated out of Nigeria, other African countries, and Europe by criminal syndicates. After getting to know you, they ask you to wire them money via Western Union or Moneygram, or ask you to fly to Africa to meet them (great way to get kidnapped, [[surprise sex]]'ed, or B& from life).
