Summary

Stickam is primarily user-generated live video content, pictures, and audio. The site gained so much popularity that cable networks such as MTV and G4tv, and even CBS Radio, among others, have used Stickam to deliver their online content. The name Stickam is derived from the users ability to embed their live feeds into other sites via a Flash player.

Origins

Started in 2005 by Hideki Kishioka and entrepreneur Wataru Takahashi (who also owns DTI Services, which specializes in adult webcam services), the site grew in popularity mainly due to usage by pre-teens and teenagers.

Current status

Fully operational, with nearly 180 million page views per month.
