The Bloody Board

A glimpse into insanity, brought to us by Cracked.com

Summary

Upon first glance, The Bloody Board would appear to be a normal forum for fans of the hit television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. There is little drama, discussions cover the show's plot points, cast, fan art, and other normal fandom stuff. The forum would be rather dull and non-notable if not for one persistent and frightening fact: there was only one member and she has been speaking to herself for 37,650 posts.

With the username jamie_marsters, a young woman from Australia (later discovered to be Louisa Pearce,) posted and posted and posted some more, having incredibly lengthy discussions with no one but herself for an astounding ten years. Her quiet but crazy home on the web was devastated on October 26th 2010 when Cracked.com featured the site in an article entitled The 7 Most Unintentionally Creepy Places on the Internet. While the other featured sites were indeed quite creepy (especailly the one where a man created horrifying woman masks with which to cross-dress,) readers took a special liking to Pearce's disturbing abode.

Of course, like with everything else, 4chan reared its ugly head and completely ruined everything. Various trolls flooded the site with assorted garbage relating to mudkips, furries, and other such cancer that is killing /b/. This would ultimately be the undoing of the forum.

Origins

The Bloody Board appears to have been created alongside a GeoCities-esque website and a Yahoo! group. Of the three, the board is the only one that has been removed.

Current status

At approximately At 4:00PM PST on the same day, Pearce logged in to find her forum completely and totally desecrated, and attempted damage control by banning some of the troll accounts, despite such actions being futile. Fifty minutes later, she deleted the entire forum. It hasn't returned since.

Sadly despite the site's long history, it was shut down as soon as the /b/tards began flooding the page like a blocked toilet before any of the lulz of her many threads and messages could be screencapped. However, thanks to the power of Google, all is not lost:

  1. Here is the cached board
  2. Click on a link. You will get a message saying the page is not available.
  3. Copy the URL.
  4. Paste the URL into Google.
  5. You will get a result from The Bloody Board.
  6. Click on "cached".

NOTE: You will have to copy steps 2 - 6 several times if you want to get to an individual thread.

Facts
