The Power 5 is a series of shock sites that are the internet's answer to the classic literature of ages past — a snapshot, if you will, of the internet in its infancy and taking its first, depraved little babysteps towards becoming the cesspool of violence and grossness that it is today. This notorious quintet consists of long-standing, well known shock sites which had a profound impact on the mentality of people when it comes to clicking suspicious looking links. While most of the impact The Power 5 once had has worn off as time has passed and newer, more vile shock content has surfaced — such as 2girls1cup, the entirety of websites such as TheYNC and so on — to desensitize people towards what is relatively tame content, they still manage to surprise and sicken those who are new to the internet's seedier locales.

The Power 5 consists of...

• Goatse, a picture of a man stretching his behind almost inhumanly;
• Tubgirl, a woman ejecting an orange liquid from her bowels as she lays in a bathtub with her legs over her shoulders;
• Hai2u, an image of an adult actress vomiting all over a man's privates;
• Lemon Party, a picture of three elderly gentlemen exploring their sexuality;
• Meatspin, a clip of a trans's parts rotating anticlockwise as he is penetrated. It is the odd one out, being a flash video rather than a static image;

Current status

Three out of five are still at their original websites and are still quite popular, although as time has passed and newer, more shocking stuff has surfaced interest in them has waned. The others are hosted on various mirrors, or are retrievable via WayBackMachine.
