Alternative rock band They Might Be Giants are very popular on the Internet. While mainstream audiences are most likely familiar with them (if at all) through their theme songs to Malcolm and the Middle and less likely The Daily Show (the latter which was written by Bob Mould of Husker Du), Internet users are usually much more familiar with the Johns. Homestar Runner notably picked up on the TMBG phenomenon by animating the music video to their single "Experimental Film" and having a Homestar Runner puppet do a few duets with the Johns.
