This Troper

A YouTube series mocking the most perverse posts to popular wiki TV Tropes.

Summary

Not only acting as a criticism of TV Tropes, This Troper is also a hilarious YouTube series that pokes fun at the site. It was made by the user CrazyGoggs.

The idea behind This Troper is to read selected passages from "Troper Tales" entries on TV Tropes. Troper Tales is a section on various TV Tropes entries where TV Tropes users add a comment on how the page can relate to them. For example, the page on Badass Longcoat, displays examples of fictional characters who are known for long coats, such as Neo from The Matrix. The Troper Tales corresponding section here shows examples that TV Tropes users can relate to.

Unfortunately for TV Tropes, many, if not all of the posts on some topics are both extremely bizarre but also rather lewd. The entries on "Buggering" or "Sonic The Hedgehog" are very good examples of this. In the latter, one very Fur-sexual user noted that he thought "Cream's mom has got it going on." about Vanilla, an obscure 16-bit Sonic character who was the mother of a young rabbit child. Or in the former, one homosexual user graphically describes how one eventually "gets used" to buggering after enough times running through. Nasty isn't it?

Not all of the videos focus on Troper Tales though. Some, such as Panty Shot focus on the actual page. The Panty Shot video has entries of people describing, with noticeable lust, short scenes in The Brady Bunch where an underage character's panties are visible for less than 3 seconds.

There was also a mini-plot that went along with the earlier videos. It involved "Plainwalkers" (people from the future) making reports on TV Tropes to bring back to what is their present time. Eventually, they commit suicide because of the stupidity of the entries. The series still continued though different readers were "killed off" from the series.

For a time the series even had its own page on the TV Tropes wiki itself. But after existing for a couple of months it was deleted by the head admin and siteowner, Faste Eddie, because it made fun of TV Tropes' community, by quoting things they had said themselves.

Origins

Nobody really knows who's behind this YouTube series. Most have speculated that it's Something Awful, with some guessing 4chan or Encyclopedia Dramatica. Either way, the series started in December 2010, and has been growing in popularity ever since. They take requests as well.

Current status

At the moment, more episodes are being created.

The series has also started to branch out a bit, doing some episodes on a misogynistic "Nice Guy" forum and a Brony forum
