Summary
Typosquatting is a phenomenon when greedy McScrooge douchebags take domains spelled similarly to domains of real sites in order to unexpectedly direct gullible people to the new domains. I.E. "Cartoonnetwok.com" instead of "Cartoonnetwork.com"
A guy named "Cupcake Confidential" (real name John Zuccarini) owned "Cartoonnetwok.com" and 5,500 other typosquatting domains. American federal juries convicted little mister Cupcake of violating the Truth in Domain Names Act, leading to a two and a half year prison sentence.
