Summary
Microsoft V-Chat is a chatting program by Microsoft. Each participant is represented as an avatar in a 3D virtual reality, like world.
Origins
Microsoft had already published Comic Chat, an IRC client. In 1996 they decided they wanted to get into the 3D chatting business as well, so they released V-Chat.
Current status
No longer in development.
