Summary
WikiFur is a large furry themed wiki which aims to comprehensively cover all information about furries and furry-related phenomena. However, the site has many, many articles which just serve to document minute details about a fursona's distinguishing features rather than anything relevant.
Origins
WikiFur was founded by GreenReaper in July 2005 and because of widespread exposure, both positive and negative, quickly became one of the biggest wikis on Wikia. In 2009 WikiFur broke away from Wikia over ads and changes to the UI imposed by Wikia and became self-hosting.
Current status
After the move it's still active, if not exceptionally lively.
Facts
- WikiFur has over 15,000 articles in 18 different languages.
- Many are astounded that site owner and operator GreenReaper will commonly appear when discussion of WikiFur occurs seemingly anywhere on the internet. He uses Google Alerts to track any mention of his site anywhere on the Internet to follow it up with a proper advertisement.
