Summary
Achewood is an American webcomic by Chris Onstad. Achewood follows the adventures of Ray Smuckles, a thong-wearing cat who is lucky at everything, the mopey Roast Beef Kazenzakis, cheerful Philippe, frustrated Teodor, the drunk Lyle, and the sedate Mr. Bear.
Achewood was ranked the top graphic novel by Time magazine in 2007.
Origins
Chris Onstad created Achewood in 2003. It started with four characters who were clearly plush animals living in a world dominated by humans. Then he added the three troublemaker cats, and then the plush animals began to dominate the Achewood universe.
Current status
On a hiatus.
