Alan "Brenlo" Crosby
A former EverQuest II developer whose firing caused massive drama.
Alan "Brenlo" Crosby was the senior producer of Sony Online Entertainments's online game, EverQuest II. In mid-April 2010, seemingly out of nowhere, he resigned from his position and David Georgeson was made to be the next producer.
Some, such as some commenters from the above link to Massively, wished him well: "Here's wishing him the best! He will be hard to replace!" However, EQ2Flames thought differently.
On April 15, 2010, a thread on EQ2Flames discussing Brenlo's leaving was posted. People discussed why he could have left, and what he has done with the EverQuest II game. Soon, Gaige, a player who gets some insider-info for Sony, got this in his inbox:
—????, on Brenlo;
One of the community managers of ZAM (a gaming site), Calthine, told him that posting such rumors just trying to start drama or something with such gossip. They argued about Tiger Woods and his OWN affairs and how Woods also has a wife and kids, like Brenlo. This went back and forth until Snooppy, another poster, attacked Niber for releasing the PMs of Aeralik and him sputtering off about "one immature posted" two years ago, and how this is no different.
Brenlo's co-worker at the time, Kiara, said that he left for his own reasons. But then, the administrator of EQ2Flames, LFG, posted:
—LFG, on affairs on May 1, 2010;
Kiara left SOE shortly after.
"Brenlo" is the online handle of Alan Crosby, who used to direct changes to Sony's online game EverQuest II.
Rise to fame
While he was known as a senior producer for EverQuest II (meaning he'd direct changes the online game would have,) the drama occurred when the EQ2Flames thread was made, and it ended up with 97 pages of arguments. Other MMORPG players and sites looked on.
Brenlo works at Disneyland.
- He was fired.
- He was replaced with Dave Georgeson, a former Gaia MMO producer.
