Google Videos is a video search engine website that indexes stuff from several video sites (YouTube, Metacafe, Dailymotion)

Origins

Google started Google Video as a website to host videos, and not as a video search engine. Then Google realized that YouTube could be a great asset to the company. Google bought YouTube, then realized that it already had another website just for hosting videos.

So Google changed Google Videos' focus. Now it is a search engine for videos and not a video host. While old videos are still on Google Videos, no new vids can be uploaded
