Summary:	'''Occupy Wall Street''' is a leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. Their mantra is "we are the 99%", a reference to the wealthiest 1% of the population holding a disproportionate amount of the total wealth of the citizenry. Most movements have set up working committees to manage such things as press releases. The Occupy movement, while thought by many to have no concrete goals, have actually always championed the removal of corporate money from politics, elimination of corporate personhood, and expansion of public works programs, among other things. They have been largely ignored by mainstream media (and when not ignored, spun to appear ridiculous or disorganised), though the movement appears sustained and even to be growing to include other cities. Protesters have routinely clashed with police, with a number of protesters being arrested and subjected to what they call police brutality. Occupy Wall Street has expanded to at least 95 cities according to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occupy_movement Wikipedia], with most movements being referenced as "Occupy X", where X is the city in question. Many occupations are set up in or around the city's financial district.
Origins:	Occupy Wall Street began as a grassroots movement in September of 2011, when a group of people led in part by individuals identifying with [[Anonymous]] and the Canadian Adbusters group set up tents and barricades and began to -- as their name suggests -- occupy Wall Street.
