Summary
Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Dr. Eggman in the Japanese versions and in later games) is the main villain in the Sonic the Hedgehog. This particular Robotnik is the antagonist of 'Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog', a cartoon that utilized characters from the popular game franchise. Voiced by the late British singer Long John Baldry (who was openly homosexual), this corpulent evil scientist is known for his hammy nature, constant rolling of his R's, and utter incompetence in capturing the speedy blue hedgehog.
Origins
Robotnik's rise to Internet fame came long after the last episode of the series first aired. In 2007, a YouTube user named Stegblob posted a YouTube Poop of various clips from the show. At one point in the video, Dr. Robotnik says "SnooPING AS usual, I see". Considering that a large proportion of YouTube Poop makers are teenagers, they inevitably latched on to the word "PINGAS", which, if you haven't guessed already, sounds like "Penis". Soon everything Robotnik ever uttered was fair game for "Pooping".
Current status
After years of overuse, most YouTube Poop makers frown upon using it, but continue to make Robotnik mashups, oftentimes with sentence mixing to make him say various dirty words. The phrase has even leaked into Sonic comics.
