"The girl who took the fun out of dysfunction."

Summary

Shay was a lying, obese, insane lesbian who caused loads of drama for her LiveJournal e-pal in 2005 and 2006 before eating herself to death in a nursing home.

The story of Shay is a long, surreal, convoluted tale of drama and fat. Shay and a fellow Livejournaler named Shiroioji met on an online forum for gay and lesbian parents. Over time Shiroioji and Shay became friends, and Shay even let Shiroioji talk to her young son, Shane, over the phone.

Origins

Problems initially began when Shay alleged that her grandmother kicked her out of her house and as Shiroioji relates here, "she bounced from place to place, even checking herself into a rehab so she would have a place to stay though she did not have a drug addiction." After staying with a friend or two for several years, she eventually moved back in with her father.

The "Smell"

Almost immediately Shay's dad got in trouble with his landlord and was asked to leave. Shay asked Shiroioji to stay at his place, so that she would be able to achieve some nominal form of interdependence. Shiroioji said yes, and within the month Shay was staying at Shiroioji's place.

Within days Shiroioji began to notice strange smells. Shay said this was her "hormonal imbalance", which was actually emanating from Shay herself; namely, her refusal/inability to wipe up the massive amounts of poo she produced on a daily basis. The place began to smell like "dirt and rotting vegetables". She stayed with Shroioji for another couple of days before he got in trouble with his landlord. Shiroioji then hooked Shay up with another friend who gave her a free month's rent, in lieu of her actually finding a job to pay for rent. This naturally failed, as Shay was too fat and lazy to do anything except play with herself, make scenes in the main complex area, and eat everyone out of house and home.

Rise to fame

Within two weeks of these events, the problems that Shay had been caused became critical. Shay threatened suicide in an email to Shiroioji, and was subsequently arrested. She downed an entire bottle of Valerian root, an herbal supplement with little to no side-effects whatsoever.

Lies

It was then that Shiroioji found out from Shay's father, who was actually her step-father, that Shane did not exist –– well, he HAD existed at one point, but he died as a result of Shay's massive girth essentially denying the nutrients needed to sustain a baby. As a result, Shay had lied consistently to Shiroioji, convincingly disguising herself as Shane to anyone who would listen to her, and fleecing everyone for cash donations, gifts, toys, &c., to feed Shane and Shay. What was really happening was that Shay was using the money donated for Shane's benefit on herself, mainly on food.

Poo

It was there that Shay's story becomes the stuff of internet legend. Shiroioji went to his friend's house to reclaim Shay's things, and discovered no less than a house literally bathed in menses, feces, urine, and rotten food. Shiroioji took plenty of pictures and posted these online, which caused an immense flame-war on Shiroioji's Livejournal, with over 5000 comments posted. Photographic evidence exists to show that Shay essentially would crap herself in bed, place a sheet over it, and then go back to sleep, too lazy and fat to do get up and clean herself. She re-wore clothing that had been covered in poo and menstrual blood, pissed in 2-liter Pepsi bottles, and even stained a couch cushion so much that it had to be thrown out along with the bed that Shay slept in, all of her clothes, sheets, linens and assorted items.

The end of Shay

Shiroioji had no choice but to commit her to a state institution for her own safety and protection. Even there, under the supervision of doctors and nurses, she continued her disgusting habits (which Shiroioji also found out included mass theft and fighting over food). She had been pissing in a large water pitcher, and amassed porn, magazines, and food from whomever might have it.

Then one day, Shiroioji received a telephone call informing him that Shay had died, apparently via diabetic shock, essentially meaning that she literally ate herself to death. She weighed in at roughly 485 pounds. Ice bags were placed around the body, but her massive body absorbed the moisture in the room, and she ballooned up another 30 pounds. All in all, Shay refused help, even in her final days, and was mired in her own filth and excess when she died. The ensuing post on LiveJournal caused a flurry of trolling activity, all of it at the dead girl's expense.
