Summary

A mind-blowingly good fan comic that combines every video game ever, and then some, Tails Gets Trolled follows the tale of Tails, Sonic, and friends in their ongoing battles with internet trolls, real trolls, and whatever other obstacles they encounter.

The comic itself is done in MSPaint, GIMP, and possibly Photoshop, and drawn using a laptop trackpad if lazerbot is to be believed. It was delayed several times, citing trackpad/mouse issues. Its attention to detail indicates that lazerbot is a dedicated fan of the included games and their television spinoffs, with such things as very minor characters making appearances or the half-destroyed moon from some Sonic series or another being displayed prominently.

Origins

Discovered one depressing day by Something Awful forums poster Nunez, Tails Gets Trolled began as what could be described as a revenge fantasy, in which Sonic, Shadow, and others defend Tails, who represents the author, after he's driven to tears by ruthless internet trolls. Goons were unable to tell whether the comic and its author, lazerbot, was ironic or not, and still are unsure of whether lazerbot is a twenty-something savant, an upset teenager, or a troll himself. Regardless of who the mysterious man behind the art is, he was directed to the SA thread and began including odd details that goons suggested or wanted, ever improving his ridiculously sublime comic.

Current status

Lazerbot is still pumping out new pages with astonishing speed, as well as integrating suggested ideas found in the Something Awful thread covering the comic. The comic has spawned a ridiculous amount of forum avatars.

Goons created and are still creating a vast amount of fanart of this fanart, so much so that there has been one Comedy Goldmine feature showing much of the initial fanart.
